Accurium is pleased to announce our new CPD series – Ask an Actuary. This series will be in addition to the twelve CPD accredited webinars we deliver to TechHub subscribers (free for our clients) each year.
Ask an Actuary is a live event where attendees can ask questions before and during the session - as well as vote for other people’s questions via Slido. Doug and Melanie then address the most-voted-for questions during the session. It was conceived from recent market research which identified that our clients wanted more opportunities to ask technical questions of our actuaries.
Our inaugural Ask an Actuary forum took place on 16 August and we were delighted with the attendance and engagement. There were a lot of great questions submitted covering a wide range of technical topics during the one-hour session and the format received excellent feedback.
As a result of the high level of technical discussion on the day the event has been awarded CPD accreditation from the SMSF Association. The great news is that it’s not too late for you to also get CPD from this session by watching the live recording and completing a short online assessment here.
Due to the success of Ask and Actuary, we will be running a quarterly series, with the next forum due in November.
Read some of the feedback we received below:
"Great way to test my knowledge, and other people’s questions showed my own knowledge gaps. Plus I didn't realize I could drop you guys a line when I needed a draft ECPI calc when a member leaves the Fund (i.e. an unsigned actuary certificate)! Lastly, you guys know your stuff which is of great reassurance!!!!!"
"Excellent presentation. Interesting to learn of issues being encountered by others. Would love to have another session to go through remaining questions. This is much better than trying to read a Q&A printout"
"Fabulous real life examples - lots of finely tuned questions to really show some of the intricacies of what happens in a real-life SMSF practice - please run it again"
"An excellent concept and I enjoyed the structure of the session, please run it again"
"This kind of forum is very helpful and I would appreciate if you are considering organising more"
