Identifying and working through PSI issues

What concepts are often misunderstood?

How to manage contractor clients falling foul of the PSI minefield

How do you explain personal services income to your clients and what would result in a business being considered a personal service business?

The PSI Minefield Webinar makes sure you understand the issues that will be crucial to your client when dealing with personal services income issues.

In addition, we look at what the PSI tests are and when attribution of PSI will occur. We make sure you understand what other obligations result from attribution of PSI.

What we cover

The personal services income (PSI) provisions can be complex to work through and can include some concepts that are misunderstood by many taxpayers and practitioners.  In this webinar, we will cover:

  • What is personal services income
  • When do you need to apply the rules?
  • What are the ‘PSI tests’?
  • What do I need to do if:
  • my client passes the PSI tests?
  • my client fails the PSI tests?
  • What would result in a business being considered a personal services business, and what difference would that make?
  • What working papers do I need?
  • When would attribution of PSI occur and what does this mean?
  • What other obligations would attribution result in?
  • Why passing the PSI rules is not a licence to income split – the Commissioner’s Part IVA warning
