In this session Mark Ellem delivers practical and guidance on essential administrative responsibilities for SMSF accountants and administrators, including:

  • reporting transfer balance account events
  • managing GST and PAYG withholding registrations and lodgements
  • preparing annual financial statements, and
  • compiling the SMSF annual return (with lodgement reserved for registered tax agents).

Clear boundaries around prohibited activities are addressed, including:

  • trust deed amendments, preparation of legal documents
  • the limits surrounding trustee meeting minutes,
  • pension establishment, and
  • investment strategy documentation.
