  • Understand SMSF Pension Regulations & Compliance – Identify the key compliance, administrative, and tax obligations involved in commencing, maintaining, and ceasing an SMSF pension, including the impact of ATO ruling TR 2013/5. 
  • Navigate Licensing & Advice Boundaries – Differentiate between the licensing requirements for providing SMSF pension advice and the limitations on what an unlicensed accountant can discuss with clients. 
  • Apply Pension Rules in Practice – Accurately assess pension commencement requirements, calculate tax components, manage pension standards (e.g., minimum pension payments), and apply death benefit pension rules. 
  • Implement Practical Solutions Using Case Studies – Work through real-world SMSF pension scenarios to develop confidence in applying technical knowledge and problem-solving strategies in professional practice.
