On completion, participants will be able to: 

  • Explain the steps in the process to wind up an SMSF;  
  • Identify the implications of winding up an SMSF, including the treatment of any outstanding income and/or capital losses;  
  • Evaluate whether an SMSF should be wound up and whether other members could utilise the fund;  
  • Assess how an SMSF can be considered wound up in an income year despite it still having assets post year end.

A focused two‑hour workshop that equips SMSF advisers and practitioners with the essential know‑how to manage both planned and unexpected fund wind‑ups before the financial year end (30 June). The session emphasises early action, clear trustee communication and pragmatic compliance steps so you can close funds cleanly, minimise tax and reporting risks, and avoid last‑minute pressure. 

Registration includes: 

  • 2 hour live online event with opportunity to ask questions of the presenter 
  • 2 accredited CPD hours from the SMSF Association 
  • Recording and materials available to access for 3 months after the event 
  • Technical note and slides

We will also provide the recording and associated materials if you are unable to attend the education service live at the new date/time. If you are unable to attend the education service live at the new date/time, you may request a refund of the moneys paid by contacting Accurium directly, with all requests to be considered on a case by case basis by Accurium in its absolute discretion.
