When SMSF members separate or divorce, accountants often find themselves in the middle, helping clients navigate superannuation splits without overstepping into legal advice.

This one-hour webinar, presented by Anthony Cullen will focus on the practical and compliance aspects of superannuation splitting from an SMSF perspective.

You will gain a clear understanding of:

  • What documentation you should sight (and what to leave to the lawyers)
  • How to account for superannuation splits in the SMSF’s financials
  • Member balance adjustments and fund reporting requirements
  • Valuation and deed considerations specific to SMSFs
  • Common traps and compliance risks to avoid

This session won’t provide legal advice but will equip you with the practical knowledge and confidence to manage your responsibilities as an accountant when your SMSF clients go through a family law split.

  • 1.75 accredited CPD hours from the SMSF Association/Financial Advice Association of Australia
