With the Senate recommending no changes to the Better Targeted Superannuation Concessions, commonly referred to as Div 296 measures, we are closer to this measure becoming law, which applies from the 2025-26 financial year.
In preparation for this new measure, we are conducting an in-depth workshop for accountants and advisers to help understand how Div 296 operates, who it affects, and what actions to consider for those clients prior to its commencement. Case studies will be used to provide a practical approach to illustrate the application of Div 296, the amount of tax assessed and the options for payment.
We will also look at alternative structures for holding investment capital outside of super.

Anthony is a new member of the Accurium education team and comes to us with nearly 25 years of experience in the accounting and SMSF industry. He has previously held senior roles managing the SMSF division of a small accounting practice and providing SMSF technical support within a large SMSF administration business. Over the years, Anthony’s roles have evolved from the accounting function of SMSFs to keeping on top of the ever changing technical and compliance nature of this specialised area.

Tiffany has over 25 years experience in the tax profession undertaking roles within accounting firms (including the Big 4), corporates (including multinationals) and tax education/advocacy. Over this time, she has managed client portfolios, in-house tax functions and has also worked as both a tax technical writer and workshop/seminar presenter.
Tiffany is also a Registered tax agent and an Australia Lawyer admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria.
