On the 30th March, the Government announced the third tranche of the stimulus package to deal with the economic downturn caused by COVID-19.
The JobKeeper Payment is a scheme which is anticipated to cost $130 billion and is intended to provide a wage subsidy of $1,500 per fortnight for six months, starting from 30 March 2020, for eligible employers in respect of eligible employees. In addition, affected sole traders with or without employees are also covered by the scheme.
